Sometimes we do not have the time or the resources to take a weekend trip away. The whYoga Day is the perfect answer to this dilemma and it is regarded as a ‘mini yoga retreat’ for many whYoga students.
Each whYoga Day has specific thematic interest that embodies the principles of the ancient holistic medical system of India, Ayurveda. The student is nourished throughout the day by a unique sequence of yoga postures that reach an energetic crescendo by early afternoon. A delicious two course lunch and tea is included mid afternoon.
The first par of the day incorporates a 1.5 hour vinyasa sequence with a commensurate warm up and warm down. Great for cleansing and energising. The second part of the day follows a more restorative and peaceful pace allowing you the opportunity to compare the effects of two opposing approaches to your yoga practice, each equally resonant. Meditation and Pranayama are also an intrinsic part of The whYoga Day of which many diverse practices are explored.
The whYoga Day is created for all to enjoy. The Yoga Day encourages you to honour the postures, meditation and breathing techniques as your own so that you begin to understand that those practices that create resistance in the mind and body also provide you with a good opportunity to embrace patience and tolerance.
Above all The whYoga Day is always taught with an element of fun at its heart.

"I have been attending yoga days and retreats with Vicky for several years now. She manages to combine a truly spiritual approach with a physically energising and demanding practice, a feat that not many yoga teachers accomplish."
