Vicky is adept at integrating those just beginning on their yoga journey and those who already have a solid practice into her classes. There are many benefits from this type of approach:
1) If you are a yoga beginner you will feel a gradual physical and emotional unfolding as you take your first adventure into yoga postures and yoga breathing. These first steps can have an overwhelming effect on your body and spirit. The support and silent guidance of more experienced yoga practitioners will help to ground you at this revelatory time.
2) If you are en experienced practitioner it is just as important for you to maintain a connection with the new and exciting energy of a beginner and offer inspiration and encouragement. If you feel you have reached a plateau in your practice, often a new presence in the class will instigate a deeper awareness of your own development.
The word ‘yoga’ itself defines ‘unity’. A class of mixed ability practitioners embraces this definition. A feeling of nurtured camaraderie is one of the most important elements of a class, so that the time set aside for this assisted practice is joyful, safe and moving.
Classes presently running at Balham and Earlsfield Library on Monday and Wednesday evenings respectively at 8.00pm - 9.30pm.
Note: It takes about 6 weeks of once or twice weekly classes before the body and mind truly settle into the literal and physical language of Hatha Yoga. After six weeks a yoga beginner will feel a greater mastery over their yoga practice; the mind will stop reasoning and the body will feel and act by its own intelligence. When this occurs the mind is then given the space to engage in present moment awareness; the foundation of living fulfillment.
